In memory of

Diane Badure

of Belvidere, South Dakota, died on Friday, January 1, 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 64

Diane Faye Rittel was born September 22, 1945, in Kadoka, South Dakota, the daughter of Merle and Florence (Hellmers) Rittel. She grew up in the Belvidere community attending all twelve years of schooling in Belvidere, graduating from Belvidere High School in 1963.

On June 2, 1963, she married Allen Badure, also of Belvidere. They spent their first four years working for Zack and Norma Word on a ranch south of the Big White River. In 1967 they leased the Hi and Wanda Osborn Ranch. Diane had a very strong relationship with Wanda and Hi.

Diane was extremely proud of the Belvidere Community and the people around it. She was a true ranch lady. She made tons of food in her lifetime, packing food out to the cowboys or feeding them at home. She was very fond of all the young boys that worked on the ranch throughout the years.

Her main concern was of course, her family, especially her four grandchildren. She very much enjoyed holidays, especially when all the family would get together.

Diane had a very close relationship with Jane Livingston and Jane’s daughter Kylie Brunson. In later years, there were many helpful friends that came to her aid. Diane was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, R-CALF USA, and the South Dakota Stockgrowers.

Grateful for having shared her life include her husband Allen Badure of Belvidere; two sons Greg Badure and his wife Dana and their children Brisa and Martin, and Baxter Badure and his wife Carol and their two children Brianna and Kianna, all of Belvidere; two sisters Sharon Teets, and Judy Brodsky and her husband Mike, all of Grand Island, Nebraska; a nephew Troy Teets and his wife Heather and their son Nicholas of Grand Island; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents.

Closed-casket visitation was held from 6-7  p.m. on Monday, January 4, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Kadoka, with Father Bryan Sorensen as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Belvidere Cemetery.

A memorial is established to the Belvidere Fellowship Hall in Belvidere.
