Frieda R. Huether
of Wall, South Dakota, died on Monday, March 11, 2002 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 91
Frieda R. Marquardt was born March 20, 1910 on her parent’s farm near Emery, South Dakota. She grew up and received her education in the Emery area.
She was united in marriage to Edward Huether on December 28, 1933 in Yankton, South Dakota.
They made their home on his parents’ homestead for eleven years prior to purchasing and operating a farm-ranch in the Conata area.
Edward preceded her in death on May 1, 1992
Frieda continued to live on the farm-ranch until moving to Rapid City in October 1999.
Frieda was a member of First Lutheran Church in Wall, and Peace Lutheran Church of Rapid City. She served as treasurer of Conata Township for several years, until moving to Rapid City. Frieda enjoyed gardening and loved horses.
Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Dorothy Shearer and her husband Lavon Shearer of Wall, and Margaret "Maggie" Bloom and her husband James of Rapid City; seven grandchildren, Glendon Shearer, Greg Shearer, Grant Shearer, Jeff Bloom, Jacci Bloom, Jayne Bloom, and DeAnna Kammerer; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Frieda was preceded in death by her parents and ten siblings.
Visitation was held Tuesday, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall and one hour preceding the services at the Community Center.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2002 at the Wall Community Center with Rev. Robert Bailey officiating, and Pastor Ray Greenseth assisting.
Interment was in the Wall Cemetery.
A memorial is established.

Carl Marquardt family is very sorry that no one attended the services but we found out that Aunt Freida had passed away the day after the funeral. We loved her very much and hope that she will find peace in heaven with Uncle Eddie. She was the only one who could still tell us about the family history and we enjoyed our visits with her. Again we are very sorry that we were unable to attend the service for her. The family has our deepest sympathy. I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Frieda. I met her and Eddie many years ago on a visit with Dar Marquardt Engelmeyer. Frieda took me into her home and made me feel like she had known me all my life. I still have the ostrich tail feathers she gave me and remember how she warned us about the rattle snakes in the area. She had a fun-loving personality and was loved by all who met her. I will never forget the beautiful home she had in the Badlands and how she made me feel like I was one of the family.
