In memory of

Larry Neiderworder

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital at the age of 73

Larry Neiderworder was born September 2, 1945 to Morris and Mavis (Griesel) in Philip, South Dakota. He was raised on the family farm northwest of Midland with four sisters and two brothers. He graduated from Philip High School and then became a member of the South Dakota National Guard from 1968 to 1974.

Larry was united in marriage to Vicki Collins on June 28, 1969. They settled on his childhood family farm where they raised their two children: Shanna and Shane. Larry began working for Midwest Coop Elevator in 1995 when the family moved to Philip. He then joined Grossenburg Implement in Philip in 2001 as a truck driver until his retirement in January 2015.

Larry’s favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, and morning coffee with the guys. Upon retirement he enjoyed camping trips and extra time on the golf course where he worked summers. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Vicki of Philip; one daughter Shanna (Jeff) Baker and their children Harley and Bryton of Sioux Falls; one son Shane (Shirleine) and their children Katelyn, Kolten, and Kaden of Presho; a special niece Samantha (Troy) Spear and their children Braydon and Brett of Summerset; two brothers Chuck (Gale) Neiderworder of Colorado and Gary Neiderworder of Rapid City; and four sisters Karon Bauman of Rapid City, Sharon (Bob) Weimer of Colorado, Marie Nuttle of Rapid City, and Mary (Randy) Miller of New Underwood; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Morris and Mavis; his in-laws Lester and Viola Collins; a sister-in-law Micki Erk; and two brothers-in-law Dale Nuttle and Jim Bauman.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, at the United Church in Philip with Pastor Kathy Chesney officiating.

A memorial is established to the Philip Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials can be sent to P.O. Box 755, Philip, SD 57567.
