In memory of

Annetta M. Geigle

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood at the age of 90

Annetta Mable Eisenbraun was born April 3, 1927, in Creighton, South Dakota, the second of ten children of Herbert and Emma (Willuweit) Eisenbraun. She was baptized in the old Emmanuel Lutheran Church on May 15, 1927. She grew up in the Creighton area and received six years of education in the area before the family moved to a ranch on the Cheyenne River where she attended Squaw Creek Rural School. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith on September 10, 1941. After her schooling, she stayed and worked on the ranch. In 1946, she worked for Hustead’s and stayed in Wall.

Annetta was united in marriage to Wilhelm E. “Willie” Geigle in her parents’ home on the Cheyenne River on December 11, 1946. To this union were born four children; Wallace, Wade, Ned and Nan. They settled on a farm-ranch north of Quinn, where they lived for 28 years, before moving into Wall. While in Wall, she worked in the lunchroom at the Wall School, and later for John and Dawna Tsitrian at the Kings Inn Motel.

Annetta taught herself to play piano and later the organ, and played for Church on Sundays at Emmanuel. She loved to crochet and bake, and when she lived on the farm she raised all kinds of birds, including chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and many more. She also always had a big garden, and loved her apple trees.

Her husband Willie preceded her in death on April 17, 2003. Annetta continued to reside in Wall, until moving into the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood in 2016, where she has since resided.

Survivors include three sons Wallace Geigle of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Wade Geigle and his wife Alvina and of Wall, and Ned Geigle of Wall; one daughter Nan Miller and her husband Harvey of Wall; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; Sara and Ronny Dow, and their children Jagger and Jeron; Jory Geigle and his daughter Kaitlyn; Fawna Goff and her husband Terry and their children Mason and Mazee; Tanna Lindgren and her husband Seth and children Noah, Alex, Paige, and Gabe; Monica Geigle and her friend Matt; Christopher Geigle and his wife Nancy and children Emma and Ronin; Creighton Geigle; Siene Geigle; Danny Miller, and Jim Miller; three brothers Ivan Eisenbraun of Philip, Paul Eisenbraun and his wife Kathy of Columbus, Indiana, and Andrew “Andy” Eisenbraun and his wife Linda of Rapid City; two sisters Esther Carsten of Rapid City, and Wanda Goodrich and her husband Steve of Rapid City; two sisters in-law Marion Eisenbraun of California, and Janet Eisenbraun of Ohio; and a host of other relatives and friends.

  • Annette Geigle, what a sweetheart she was. I met Annette and Wilhelm many years ago through Ned as we all sat down to a meal and the friendship bloomed from that point on. Annette always had a smile and a hug for you. She was along on many adventures that took Ned and I to different places. She seemed to love pretty rocks, especially with holes in them. Maybe she thought of them as her “Holy Rocks”. She loved her collection of knick-knacks which decorated her house displayed on little shelves, they were everywhere. I will never forget her pleasantness as we sat at her kitchen table talking with her about things and seeing her grateful smile. You were a great teacher Annette. You will be missed, but we will meet again in the here-after. Rest in peace. ~ Robert L. Morgan Rapid City (1/15/2018)
