In memory of

Helen Good

of Spearfish, formerly of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Spearfish Canyon Healthcare Center at the age of 90

Helen M. Good was born June 16, 1930 in Martin, South Dakota to Richard H. and Helen I. (Carpenter) Weaver. She grew up in the Long Valley community and attended rural school for eight years.

Helen was united in marriage to Lorin Good on June 17, 1947 in Rapid City, South Dakota. They made their home south of Wanblee, South Dakota until they retired and moved to Martin in November of 1988. After Lorin’s death in September of 1989, she moved to Kadoka in 1990 to be closer to family. Helen always had a garden and enjoyed cooking and baking.

Helen was a 56-year member of American Legion Post #240 Auxiliary of Martin. The last three years of her life Helen was living in an assisted living center in Spearfish.

Grateful for having shared her life are one son Rick (Lisa) Good of Moorcroft, Wyoming; one daughter Sharel (Bob) Spears of Wickenburg, Arizona; one daughter-in-law Reva Good of New Underwood; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Bill Weaver and Edwin (Omel) Weaver; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Lorin; one son Jerry Good; her parents; and five brothers.

Private family services will be held at the Martin Community Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
