In memory of

Elaine Schreiber

of New Underwood, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood at the age of 74

Elaine G. Schreiber was born March 7, 1945, on a ranch near Quinn, South Dakota, the daughter of Edgar and Anna (Kjerstad) Schreiber. She grew up on the ranch and attended rural schools at Bedner and Hidden Valley schools in the area. She then attended Wall High School.

After her graduation from high school, Elaine worked at a local motel in Wall for a number of years and continued to live on the ranch.

Following a brain tumor, Elaine, along with her brother Elnoris, moved into the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood, in 2007, where she has since resided.

Elaine was an avid reader of the Bible and listened to anything to do with the Bible while at the nursing home. She enjoyed the trips she was able to take to Oklahoma and Idaho.

Grateful for having shared her life are her brothers, Alvin and Christine Schreiber and Lawrence and Loretta Schreiber; sister Rose and Dennis Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister Linda Garrison; brother Elnoris Schreiber; sister-in-law Sharon Schreiber; nephew Boyce Garrison; and a great-niece Erika Weisz.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the First Lutheran Church in Wall with Pastor Christopher McCarthy officiating.

Interment will follow at the Wall Cemetery.
