  • Just saw the sad news on internet. He was my best friend and the room-mate at Open Bible College, Des Moines. He was very helpful, giving me ride to work and shopping when I did not have a car. I came from India as a student. LaVay was my close friend. He also visited India with me. We also talked each other on phone few years ago. It was a great shock knowing that he passed away. May his Soul Rest in Peace until the great Day of Resurrection. ~ Thomas Chicago (8/14/2019)
  • I have known Lavay since high school, (better known as "Gov" back then). I enjoyed playing basketball with him in his backyard after school. His dad would drive the pickup while Lavay and I would shoot rabbits standing in the rear. That might have been the first drive-by shootings in Midland. In Bible College, I got a Thompson Chain Reference Bible from him with my name engraved on the cover in gold letters. I have enjoyed conversations with Lavay on many topics, but he would light up when talking about the Lord, especially Revelation. I pray the Lord will be near to his family, especially Gabriel and Matthew. I will echo my brother Jim's sentiments, Lavay was kind and generous. ~ Paul Striker Treynor, Iowa (5/3/2018)
  • So sorry to hear of LaVay's passing. I have many fond memories of being with him in our youth. I know he loved the Lord and is in Heaven now and at peace. We are praying for his family. ~ Dan and Mary Willard Ashland,Ohio (4/27/2018)
  • LaVay was a kind and generous man. We stayed at the Kadoka Inn and he would even make us special breakfast. His dear mother invited me in for hot chocolate when I was delivering the RC Journal in a snow storm! ~ James Striker Hastings MN (4/26/2018)

  • I'm sorry for your loss. Certainly the death of one we dearly love is very saddening. I too have experienced such heart break over someone near and dear to me. Revelation 21:4 has provided comfort for me, where is says "And he (God) will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore" ~ Nick Billings (4/25/2018)
  • My heart & prayers go out to the McKinley family. Knowing he is in our Father's arms and getting to be with those that have gone before him. Knowing that we will one day meet again. He has been set free & seeing his reward in Heaven. ~ Sandra Nantais Sioux Falls, SD (4/24/2018)
  • So sorry to hear of LaVay's passing. The Woitte family has many fun memories of playing with LaVay and Dallas as we grew up. I took piano lessons from his mother and was a younger classmate to LaVay. Our prayers and thoughts are with his immediate and extended family. He is resting in the arms of his LORD and Savior Jesus Christ now and no longer in pain. ~ Robin & Josef Opitz Midland, SD (4/24/2018)
