Louise Gonzalez

of Rapid City, South Dakota, formerly of Stockton, California, died on Monday, October 8, 2018
at the Fountain Springs Healthcare in Rapid City at the age of 91

Louise was born to George Webster “Web” and Sylvia (Richards) Fenner on January 13, 1927, in Dalzell, South Dakota. Louise graduated from Rapid City High School in May 1944.

She was united in marriage to George Gonzalez on March 2, 1945, in Rapid City. After their marriage, Louise and George moved to New York City and lived there until the early 1950’s. They later moved to Stockton, California, where they built the home they would share for the next 61 years until George passed away on March 25, 2006.

Louise continued to reside in Stockton until December 2015 when her family moved her back to Rapid City to be near them as her health had declined.

Louise’s sense of humor was fun to behold, and her spirit matched her red hair. She was very well-read and could always be counted on to voice her well-thought out opinion, especially if you engaged her in the talk of politics!

Survivors include her sister, Ruby Moore of Rapid City; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very dear friend in California, Betty McConnell. Betty and Louise’s friendship went well beyond both of them being coworkers and continued throughout their retirements.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; two sisters, Opal Sieh and Hazel Knight; two brothers Allen Fenner and Harvey Fenner; brothers-in-law, Clifford Sieh, Edgar “Rusty” Moore, and Sig Knight; and sisters-in-law, Florence Fenner and Jean Fenner.

At Louise’s wishes there will be no services held and her ashes will be returned to California to be interred with those of her husband George at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California.

Memorial donations can be directed to a local animal shelter as Louise and George loved and shared their home with many cats and dogs over the years.

Rest in peace, Weezie.
