Brian James Feddersen was born January 14, 1988 in Pierre, SD and died August 30, 2011 at his home in Murdo, SD. Brian, son of Milton and Judy (Krueger) Feddersen, spent most of his life in Murdo where he attended Jones County School. Growing up, Brian enjoyed spending time with his family outdoors fishing because it gave him time to explore.
As Brian began to start high school he fell in love with the sport of football as you could tell by the heart he displayed on the field. His senior year of football was one of his proudest moments because the team had made it to the 3rd round of the playoffs (something no team in Jones County history had ever done). After Brian graduated from Jones County High in 2006, he attended Black Hills State University for one year before transferring to South Dakota State. After attending college Brian worked for Barnhart, traveling the country building wind towers. Brian enjoyed spending his days off from the wind towers helping many of the local ranchers in the Jones County area. After a short career working on the wind towers, Brian returned back to Murdo where he continued working for Miller-Mathews as a ranch hand until his last days. Brian loved the country and enjoyed being with his friends, who meant the world to him. His favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing and had a passion for animals. Brian was always up for an adventure, whether it was taking flying lessons or deciding to learn Spanish in order to communicate with co-workers better.
Grateful for having shared his life are his parents Milton “Shorty” and Judy Feddersen of Murdo; brother Brandon Feddersen of Tea, SD; his aunts and uncles Johnny Feddersen, Butch and Lana Feddersen, Marvin and Val Feddersen, and Yvonne Byrd, all of Murdo, Lyle Feddersen of Mitchell, SD, Connie and Eugene Pistulka of Fairfax, SD, Betty and Jim Hoar of Murdo, Jim and Diane Krueger of Huron, SD, and Dan and Sandy Krueger of Gregory, SD; several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Leon and Joan Krueger; his paternal grandparents Adolph and Harriet Feddersen; his uncle, Allen Feddersen and cousins, Donnie Krueger and Paula Pistulka.
Visitation was held 6-7 p.m.CDT on Friday, September 2, at the United Methodist Church in Murdo, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Memorial services were held 10:00 a.m. CDT, Saturday, September 3, at the Murdo City Auditorium, with Pastor Rick Hazen officiating.
Interment was in the Murdo Cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
Memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 413, Murdo, SD 57559.

God Bless you at this time.
I found a poem I want to share.
The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand,
the sun goes down but gentle warmth
still lingers on the land.
The music stops, yet it echoes on
in sweet refrains ...
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.
