Marion, Darlene, Shane, Brit and Amanda,
I have many fond memories of Trent. He had a rare gift of not letting a negative comment ever come out of his mouth. His smile and compassionate words made everyone feel at ease and just a little bit better about themselves every time they talked to him. A person that good-hearted and ambitious had to have left this world with no regrets. He accomplished more in his short time here than many could accomplish in lifetimes. I'm very sorry for your loss. You should be very proud of Trent. He lived every second of his life to the fullest. We all envy Trent and I'm very privileged and blessed to have known him.

Our memories of Trent involve a well worn path between our house & yours. Over the years, from kindergarten through high school & beyond, our three boys & Trent traveled the alley between our houses more times than anyone could count. Through rain, snow, mud or sunny days, back & forth they would go. They walked, they ran, rode bikes, roller blades, snow sleds or even dog sled. As the years went by, they used motorized vehicles including a go-cart, 4-wheeler, snowmobiles & eventually cars & pickup trucks. They came searching for after school treats, the best menu for dinner, movies, togetherness, sleepovers, adventures in Darlene's garden, trampoline (ours or Trent's), zucchini baseball, backyard forts & lots of neighborhood adventures. What they found was a lifetime of friendship & memories. There were baseball games, wrestling meets & football games. There were camping trips, skiing, snowboarding & snowmobiling in the Black Hills. We will always remember our summer vacation to Moab, Utah with Marshall & Trent. The long drive to the campground, rafting on the Colorado River, mountain biking across the desert & hiking through Arches Park. We have a lifetime of memories of Trent, Rick, Craig & Kyle growing up together along with the other "Boys of the Hill".
Our memories of Trent are as bright & numerous as the stars in the sky. They will be forever in our hearts. Trent...thank you for being a part of our lives...we will miss you, always! Please remember that even though Trent is in Heaven, the path to our house is still there. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.

I found this poem and thought of Trent.
I Did Not Die
Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift
uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

My deepest sympathy to all of you. Trent's a great kid and even a better friend. He and my brother were a great tandem, so I have gotten to know Trent throughout the years. We have been fishing, snowboarding, and even a football camp together having lots of fun. Trent was one of those rare people that made all around him feel good about themselves and have fun doing it. I, my family, and all who knew him will remember his cheerful smile and the great person he became.

Dear Marion, Darlene and family,
Words cannot begin to express the sorrow and heartache we feel for your family at this time. Trent was such a special young man. We'll never forget what a special friend he was to our son, Michael, and to all of us, for he always had a smile and would like to chat whenever we met. We're so grateful that you brought that caring and precious person into the world for all of us to share in knowing.
Following is a poem that I found that reminded me of Trent …
Afterglow
I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is done.
I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways.
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave behind when day is done.
God bless you all and we are always here for you.

Danny and I were deeply saddened to hear about Trent. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies. Trent was such a wonderful man. We have been remembering all the times that we spent together as families, and I can't stop remembering that smile and contagious laugh. Danny and I loved talking with him about football, and Trent always defending the Broncos no matter what we said! He laughed so easily and with so much joy. It was said to me once that God always takes the good ones and he definantly took one of the best ones. It just seems so unbelievable, but it is and that is what is so hard about Trent's passing. Know that our prayers are with all of you. May the love you have with family and friends support you through this time. May God with you through this time. Matt Family- I was so saddened to hear the news of Trent's death. I didn't know Trent that well although I do remember times playing together when I was babysat and the Ingram's years ago. It is so difficult to understand why these things happen, especially to someone so full of life. I am thankful that it is not our job to understand these things. I don't think there is anything I can say to ease your burdens, my only advice is to truly lean on Jesus and know that He is your strength, in times like this and always. If you fall, fall on your knees and if you stumble, stumble into the arms of Jesus. I will continue to pray for your family. God Bless you.

I have always felt like niece whenever I have been around you and your family. Darlene your parents were and always will be the grandparents I did not have as a teenager. I did not know Trent or Brit well but have several memories of time spent with Shane and Jen Shriever. I was greatly touched to see you at dad's funeral and had wished to spend more time with you. Our families have suffered great losses this fall and winter. I know that the thing that comforts me about dad is that he was doing the one thing he loved and did not suffer. I pray that Trent enjoyed his trip to Denver as much and dad loved to fly. I am certain that they are together and wishing upon us the joy they experienced during their last days.

Marion, Darlene and family,
We are so sorry to hear about Trent. We know there are never enough words to ease the pain. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Trent was such a neat kid. May God bless you and give you the strength to endure the pain and suffering you are going through. We've been and will continue to pray for you all. I found this poem for you.
God Will Do The Rest
I asked the lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide and protect you
As you go along your way
His love is Always with you
His promises are true
And when we give Him all our cares
You know He will see you trough
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
Just remember We're here praying
And GOD WILL DO THE REST.
I asked the lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide and protect you
As you go along your way
His love is Always with you
His promises are true
And when we give Him all our cares
You know He will see you trough
So when the road you're traveling on
Seems difficult at best
Just remember We're here praying
And GOD WILL DO THE REST.

Dear Marion & Darlene and family,
I know that words cannot express the grief you are going through - or the sympathy that is felt for you all at this time. This is all so unbelievable - Trent was such a nice guy, always had a smile to share. He will be remembered very fondly by all who knew him. We never know why such terrible things can happen to such good people & this is just that. God has His reasons & plans & He is there for you to give you strength & comfort - please let Him give those to you. We will always remember Trent and all the hours of watching wrestling all the years, from very young to older. A very enjoyable kid & adult. Please know that our thoughts & prayers are with you all at this time & in the many months to follow. If there is ever anything we can do to help, please just ask - we are all so helpless in times like these. May God bless you & give you peace & comfort & strength

Dear Marion, Darlene, Shane, and Brit,
We are so sorry, can't even begin to think of the words to express to each of you in this time of sorrow. I want you all to know that we will always remember Trent as a very respectable young man, always having a big smile on his face, happy to see all his many friends. He will never be forgotten for his great efforts and accomplishments in his many years of baseball. We are very grateful that Shawn and Trent got to spend many fun times growing up together in many activities and having a friend like Trent. May you find comfort in the days to come, which I know are much easier said than to live what you are all going through right now. May you find healing in the prayers you receive, as we are praying for you all. May God be with you.
Love, Cindy, Jeremy, Shawn and Dana Kerns
