of Interior, South Dakota, died on Monday, December 8, 2014
at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 58

Mary Elizabeth Perkins was born July 8, 1956, in Alliance, Nebraska, the daughter of “Burnie” and Eleanor Louise (Vifquain) Harkin. Mary Beth grew up in Denver, Colorado, and graduated from South High School in Denver in 1974. While in high school, Mary Beth enjoyed singing in the choir.

She was united in marriage to Bubby Samples in 1979, who she met while they both worked at a Mexican restaurant, and to this union was born a son, Tim. They made their home in Arvada, Colorado .

In 1991, Mary Elizabeth met Scott Perkins, who worked with her brother. They were married September 4, 1992, in Denver, and to this union were born four children Nicholas Adam, Eleanor, April, and Otis, Jr. They made their home in Denver, Colorado, until 1997. During that time, she was a receptionist for a podiatrist, and later decided to stay at home and raise her children.

In June 1997, they moved to Interior where they have since resided.

Mary Beth loved to go to dances, and loved to sing. She was a fan of home remedies, and loved to collect recipes, unicorns, spoons from nearly every state, key chains, and purple was her favorite color. Mary Beth touched many people’s lives, and was a part of several internet groups. She gained friendships from all corners of the world, even though she had never met them face to face.

I was one of the lucky people who Mary met on the Internet. I've known her for the past 10 years. She was truly an incredible person, who loved Scott and her children so very much! She loved to talk about them and how proud she was. We had the fact that we both lost our moms in common and she always knew what to say to make everything seem better. She will be missed terribly!! RIP Sweet Angel I know you're not hurting or having a hard time breathing anymore. Keep an eye over all of us, we all need to feel your presence.

Mary was an exceptional woman, I was one of the many friends she met online. I loved her like a sister. She was so proud of Scott and her kids and talked about how proud she was all the time. We both lost our moms and we helped each other through that and all the other painful things that happen in a person's life. She will be sorely missed. Keep an eye on all of us Mary we all need go feel you in our lives still. I already went to talk to you many times today to make it thru the day, before I remembered it was you who was gone. Love you girlfriend!

To you all I send condolences. I've never met Mary face to face She was part of a group that supported each other through many different situations. The group is for family, mostly wives, of truck drivers. I can recall Mary sharing thoughts on many occasions. Prayers of peace to you all.

To Tim and the Perkins family, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew "Ronnie" in high school and will never forget what an enthusiastic "Rebel Rouser" she was.
After high school I saw her become a wonderful woman, wife, and devoted mother. I am so glad she was able to make it for our 20th high reunion and will cherish the photo I had taken with her and the Straub twins. She will always have a special place in my heart as will many of her classmates. We had a slogan at South-"Nothing like us ever was!" My prayers are with all of you.

We are so sorry about the loss of Mary, God has gained another helper. We are unable to attend the viewing or the funeral itself because of issues here we are dealing with, so sorry that we cannot be there for the family. We will always cherish our visit this past 4th of July week with everyone. It was a great experience we will always have from a small town and the closeness it has, the parade making the loop twice, the fire hose squirt off with the fire dept. and challengers, the family BBQ and then the super great fire works show. What a fun filled day a small town can put together. The hospitality Mary, Scott, Nicholas, Eleanor, April, Otis put together for Jackie Lee and me will be remembered forever.. We truly miss seeing you all at this tough time in your lives, we will be praying for you all hope to be out your way when we can again..
