LeRoy Wyant was born August 24, 1934, in Wall, South Dakota, the son of Clive and Mollie (Villebrandt) Wyant. He grew up in the Wall area and attended Wall School. After his schooling, LeRoy worked various construction jobs and also worked for VanVleck Lumber Company.
LeRoy enlisted in the United States Army in 1956. After his honorable discharge in 1958, he returned to Wall. LeRoy was united in marriage to Sharon S. Pierce on May 23, 1958. They made their home in Wall, where LeRoy worked for the State Highway Department. After 35 years of service, LeRoy retired as foreman, from the Highway Department in 1996.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his wife Sharon on February 25, 2003. He continued to make his home in Wall, where he always enjoyed dancing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two daughters Pam Chapman-Holloway and her husband Don of Rapid City, and Patty Coleman and her husband Mark of Quinn; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother Norris Wyant and his wife Carolyn of Apache Junction, Arizona; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife Sharon, LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters Doris Pigsley and Loretta Thomas.
Visitation will be held one hour preceding the services at the church on Monday.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Russell Masartis officiating.
Military graveside rites will be held 12:30 p.m. Monday, September 12, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
