Beau Spotted Bearof Quinn, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, December 31, 2019

Beau Spotted Bear was born May 31, 1988. Shortly after his birth he was placed into the loving home of Dave and Donna Baxter. He joined his older siblings Chris, Dustin, and Dana. Eventually his little sister Randi joined the crew. He was a brother and role model to numerous foster children over the years. His parents were very dedicated to raising Beau to be the wonderful father he was for his children.
Beau looked forward to riding with his dad in the garbage truck to help collect the trash and be a cool guy like his dad. He later would go on to drive his own garbage truck. He obtained his class A CDL, while working for the City of Rapid City, along with every endorsement he could just because he liked to have them. He also made many friends while working for Black Hills Harley Davidson and Badlands Harley Davidson. He always spoke of the treasured memories he had with his many work friends.
In 2005, Beau fell in love with Anne Jo Rausch and to this union they had three beautiful boys; Kaylen, Tyson and Lincoln. His children were his pride and joy. He loved to go to their activities and cheer them on. He was always encouraging and so proud to point out to the crowd which child was his. He frequently talked about them to anyone who would listen and enjoyed sharing photos of their time together. They were his world.
Beau was a man who had to spend most of his life jumping over hurdles, but he never lost his smile while going through his battles. In 2013, Beau received his GED while receiving Adult National Honor Society Recognition because his test scores were in the top 5% in the nation. In 2014, he was even honored by the National Head Start Association, receiving national recognition for overcoming obstacles.
Beau found great joy in playing cards with his boys. He loved to play Garbage, Black Jack, Golf, Speed and numerous other games.
Beau was a very passionate person who enjoyed bacon. Some of us were even lucky enough to hear him sing his song about the bacon truck. He was a person who was genuinely happy and if he wasn't you were sure to hear a dagnabit. His smile was contagious and would light up a room. He loved bonding with his friends, especially Ted Davies, over a good cigar and fishing for catfish on the Cheyenne River... many fishing times were also spent with his boys. One of his other passions was the movie, A Christmas Story. Luckily he never shot his eye out with a Red Rider BB Gun. His leg lamp was one of his prized possessions and his dream would have been for his whole family to wear the pink bunny suit.
One goal that Beau never reached was getting his 98 year old Grandma Mary to ride on a pink motorcycle with him. We all know that he tried and he even bought her a miniature one to remind her of his intentions. He also cherished the memory of playing checkers with his Grandpa Gomer. He adored each and everyone of his family members, but his grandparents held a special place in his heart.
Many of you may be wondering why in the world this celebration of life is beginning at 6:09. People that really knew Beau would remember that he liked certain things such as the volume to be an even number and that he loved the time of 6:09 because if you flipped it around, it was still 6:09.
Beau truly had a tender heart. He was passionate about life and family. He would drop anything to help a friend. His laugh and smile were unforgettable and a true gift to the world. His absence will forever leave an emptiness in our hearts. All of these wonderful traits will be remembered and carry on in the smiles of his three beautiful boys.
Survivors include Anne Jo Spotted Bear and their three sons Kaylen, Tyson, and Lincoln Spotted Bear, all of Wall; his parents David and Donna Baxter of Quinn; two brothers Chris (Deborah) Baxter of Trimble, Missouri, and Dustin Baxter of Ft. Pierre; two sisters Dana (Chad) Eisenbraun of Kadoka and Randi (David Rieger) Moore-Baxter of Sioux Falls; his Grandma Mary Baxter of Plattsburg, Missouri, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Beau was preceded in death by his Grandpa Baxter, his Grandpa Fritz, and Grandma and Grandpa Gomer.
A memorial has been established at the Black Hills Federal Credit Union under the Beau Spotted Bear Memorial.
A celebration of life service will be held at 6:09 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at the United Methodist Church in Wall.
