Carol Ann Wickstrom, 87, died Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Luverne Health and Rehabilitation Center in Luverne, Alabama.

Carol was born October 12, 1937 to Willard and Agnes Lange, in Rapid City, South Dakota. She grew up and spent most of her life in and around the Badlands area of South Dakota. She was a very good cook and applied her skills in many restaurants in the area over the years.

She married Elwin Saunders on June 4, 1955. To this union, three children were born: Terry, Karla, and Jean Saunders. This partnership subsequently ended in a divorce.

She married William H. Wickstrom on October 8, 1974. William had two children, Charles and Lavonne Wickstrom.

Carol loved her grandchildren. She loved reading, putting puzzles together, and occasional visits to a casino.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters, and two daughters.

She will be buried near her husband William at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis at a later date.
