Frederick Zebroski

of Lander, Wyoming, formerly of Philip, South Dakota, died on Thursday, December 13, 2007 in Lander, Wyoming at the age of 54

Frederick John Zebroski was born July, 8th 1953, the son of Raymond and Frances (Weischedel) Zebroski, in Pierre, SD. The family worked a ranch north of Cottonwood, SD until moving to Philip when Fred was in the 6th grade. He attended Philip High School where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He met his future wife, Ruth Nelson, during these years and after graduation in 1971 they were married in Philip on August, 25th 1971.
Fred and Ruth moved to Brookings, SD to attend college at South Dakota State University where Fred studied forestry for three years. They moved to Minneapolis, MN where Ruth finished her nursing, while Fred worked in sales. In 1975, they returned to Philip where Fred worked for West Central Industrial and Farmer’s Union Oil.
Fred and Ruth had three children; Ryan born in 1972, Jeremy born in 1977, and Jessica in 1981. The family moved to Lander, WY in 1977. Fred worked in the mining industry for 4 years before starting a construction business, Zebroski Construction. He took great pride in his carpentry and used the business to teach his children the importance of a honest day’s work. All three children spent their summers working with their dad, mostly doing concrete and roofing jobs. Fred had an entrepreneurial spirit and ran several other successful business ventures in Lander. In 1987 and 1988 Fred and Ruth outfitted in the Wind Rivers as Middle Fork Packing. In 1996, Fred and Ruth opened Popo Agie Women’s Clinic together. Fred was the business manager for the clinic and enjoyed running both the medical and construction businesses allowing him to spend time with Ruth and the children. Prior to his death Fred and his son-in-law Ryan were starting up a furniture company called Wyoming Aspen Products.
Fred’s commitment to the community of Lander was evident through his volunteerism to Lander Rural Fire department for 10 years, refereeing and coaching youth soccer for over 20 years, and his support of youth and high school athletics. Fred loved hunting and fishing in the Wind Rivers, and boating in Alaska.
Frederick is survived by his wife Ruth Zebroski and three children; Ryan and his wife Giselle Zebroski of Bangkok, Thailand, Jeremy and his wife Jessica Zebroski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Jessica and her husband Ryan Blake of Ft. Collins, Colorado; two grandchildren Landis Zebroski of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mattheus Zebroski of Bangkok, Thailand; two brothers Larry and his wife Dixie Zebroski of Gettysburg, South Dakota; and Charlie and his wife Sharyn Zebroski of Rapid City, South Dakota; four sisters LaVon and her husband Tony Nemec of Gillette, Wyoming, Peggy and her husband Byron Parsons of Milesville, South Dakota, Cindy and her husband Kevin Pfeifle of Philip, South Dakota, and Christi and her husband John Weber of Rapid City, South Dakota; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his wife’s family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Frances Zebroski, and nephew Jake Pfeifle.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th, at the Lander Community Center in Lander, Wyoming.
Visitation was held 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at the United Church in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, at the United Church in Philip, with Pastor Mark Ford and Pastor Scott MacNaughton officiating.
Interment will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Philip.
Local arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Home of Philip.

Memorial service: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18th, at the Lander Community Center in Lander, Wyoming.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 19, at the United Church in Philip.
Funeral services: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 20, at the United Church in Philip.
Interment: Masonic Cemetery, Philip.

Aunt Ruth,
We're very sorry to hear about Uncle Fred's passing. Every time we went camping in Wyoming or South Dakota he always took time to talk and joke around with each of us, and even play (usually win) a bunch of games of horse shoes! These are fun memories of Uncle Fred that we'll always have.

Mr. Zebroski will truly be missed by everyone that knew him. It is our hope that you find a measure of comfort knowing that our grand Creator plans to restore his original purpose and make it possible for all mankind (including loved ones we have lost in death) to live forever under perfect conditions.
