Alvis Nathan Crazy Bear, age 82, of Hot Springs South Dakota, passed away on Sunday January 4th, 2026. He was born on September 26, 1943, in Manderson, South Dakota.

Al proudly served in the Air Force, was an accomplished musician and was inducted into the Colorado Country Hall of Fame in 2008.

Al is survived by partner, Cheryl Phillips, children, Dawn Marie Milhorn, Timothy Scott Crazy Bear, Kelly Isaac Crazy Bear, Alvis Lee Crazy Bear, Tyler Bobby Crazy Bear, Buneeta Samek, Teri Ladner, and Nici Ball. Al is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Melva Crazy Bear and Lucy Faith Crazy Bear (Slycord). He was preceded in death by siblings, Eleanor Woman Dress (Bronco Bill), Bessie Dress, Myrna Woman Dress, Julie Crazy Bear (Herbaugh), Larry Crazy Bear, and Belva Crazy Bear (Stone).

A two night wake will begin at 5:00 p.m. Central Time on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Ben Looking White Hall in Norris.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Central Time on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Ben Looking White Hall in Norris.
