of New Underwood, South Dakota, died on Friday, June 27, 2025 at her home in New Underwood, surrounded by her family at the age of 68
Candace "Candy" Troy McNaught was born July 17, 1956 at Martin, South Dakota, to William "Slim" and Darlene (Brodkorb) McNaught.
Candy grew up in the Rapid City area, graduating from Douglas High School in 1974. She moved to Philip, South Dakota following graduation and worked at the nursing home.
Candy was united in marriage to Bart Roberts of Casper, Wyoming on November 13, 1988. To this union two children were born: a daughter, Troy Marie, and a son, Fredrick.
Candy spent much of her life working in the medical field. After retiring she moved to New Underwood in 2017 to help her parents with the care of her grandmother, Troy Westby, and her father, Slim McNaught. She spent the balance of her life battling cancer.
Survivors include her mother, Darlene McNaught of New Underwood; daughter Troy (Jeremiah) McAlpine; son Fredrick Roberts; grandson Dylan McAlpine; granddaughter Shilo McAlpine; three brothers: Rockie McNaught of Rapid City, Monty (Susan) McNaught of Blunt, and Kevin McNaught of Draper; special best friend forever, Linda Larsen and Linda's daughter Angela Sams, both of Cheyenne, WY; and host of other relatives and friends.
Candy was preceded in death by her father, William "Slim" McNaught on January 26, 2025; paternal grandparents, Archie and Troy McNaught; maternal grandparents Sadie Strother and R.B. "Buss" Brodkorb; and niece Kylie McNaught.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 27, at the Fellowship Hall of New Underwood Community Church in New Underwood with Pastor Jake Julson officiating.
