In memory of

Brad Osborn

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Philip at the age of 41

Brad Scott Osborn, 41, of Philip, SD passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 22, 2025.

Born to Penny Osborn on July 11, 1983, Brad was raised by Randy and Peggy Martin from the age of six months, who he considered his parents. He attended school in Philip and graduated in 2002.

Though rough around the edges, Brad was a kind and gentle soul with a contagious laugh and a knack for making people laugh and lightening any situation. His friendly demeanor and warm greetings were hallmarks of his personality, evident to all who crossed his path. Brad’s skills and hobbies were many, adapting to whatever job he had, whether it was ranch hand for his uncle, building houses, doing mechanic work or working at a convenience or gas station. He loved woodworking and could make beautiful, functional pieces of furniture from scraps.

Fishing was another passion; he would often grab BW or any available friend for a day of tossing lures. Brad could cook a mean steak and often enjoyed grilling out with his previous roommates and friends. He was always taking pictures of sunsets and wildlife which brought him a sense of peace and enjoyment.

He was loyal to those he considered friends, and he was always concerned about his family, Many mornings were spent stopping to get Grandma a cup of coffee and taking it to her just because. Little kids were always a joy to him, and he adored and treasured his nieces and nephews. It didn't matter if you hadn't seen him in 10 years, if you called and said, 'Hey man, I need help,' he was there."

Brad's passing will leave a great hole in our hearts. We are all blessed to have been a part of his life, and we find comfort knowing he is at peace in heaven with his sister.

Survivors include: his sister Mercades children: Jaylee, Jasmine, and Maxwell Dahlvang, and their father Rodney, all of Philip; his parents Randy and Peggy Martin of Philip; his sister Darci Redmann and her children Madison, Evan, and Molly of North Dakota; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his sister Mercades (Martin) Dahlvang, paternal grandpa Albert "Fuzz" Martin; uncle Scott Martin; and his maternal great-grandparents.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 27, at First Lutheran Church in Philip with Pastor Cindy Bisser officiating.

Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Philip.

Cards and memorials may be sent to P.O. Box 493 Philip, SD 57567.
