In memory of

Lee Ike Neville

of Rapid City, formerly of Milesville, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at Monument Health in Rapid City at the age of 70

Lee Isaac (Ike) Neville was born February 21, 1953 in Pierre, South Dakota to Ike and Nellie (Palmer) Neville. He grew up on his family ranch near Milesville, South Dakota.

As a young man Lee enjoyed hunting rabbits with his sister Helen and cousins Gene and Joan Deuchar. He was very proud of the coon dogs he used to hunt and trap with. He bought his first pickup with the money he earned from selling his furs. Lee worked at Hansen Hide and Furs as a skinner, while living and working on the family ranch.

Lee married Debra (Kjerstad) on September 19, 1981 in Quinn, South Dakota. While living in Milesville they started their family. In 1992 they moved to a ranch in Timber Lake, South Dakota where they lived for three years. They then returned to the family ranch/farm in 1995 where they raised their four children.

Lee and Deb moved to Rapid City in 2014 due to health reasons. While living in Rapid City, Lee enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, gardening, and spending time with his family as much as possible.

Lee had the patience and love to pass on his knowledge of fishing, hunting, animal care, cooking, and gardening to his kids, grandkids, and extended family. Many cherished memories were made camping, fishing, and hunting with his family and friends. When Lee would say, “lets go check cows,” you could bet money that it also entailed a coyote hunt or shooting prairie dogs.

Survivors include his wife Deb of Rapid City; two sons Luke (Jen) Neville of Philip and Eric (Alana) Neville of Milesville; two daughters Amanda (Lukasz) Stanczyk of Rapid City and Lynsy (Kyle) Brink of Union Center; grandchildren: Philip and Kyla Stanczyk; Kennah Gartner, Jaelyn Neville, Noah and Bella Neville, and one on the way; Cayson, Trygg, and Tymber Brink; sister Helen Sexton of Rapid City; brothers Fred (Judy) Neville of Box Elder and Richard (Beulah) Neville of Philip; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law John Sexton.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, at the American Legion Hall in Philip with Pastor Jake Julson officiating.
