In memory of

Robert "Bob" Juedes

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Monument Health Hospice House in Rapid City at the age of 82

Robert Henry Juedes passed away on September 29, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born on October 10th, 1940, in Neenah, Wisconsin, to Herbert and Hester Juedes.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his wife, Norma Juedes; his children, daughter Cristine Hamad and son Paul Juedes; his grandchildren Adam Hamad, Sabrina Hamad, Ethan Juedes, Luke Juedes, and Sofia Juedes; and his sisters, Ellen Pickering and Jeanette Freedman.

A testament to his character and early leadership, Robert achieved the rank of Eagle Scout within the Boy Scouts in 1955, a distinction that showcased his commitment, discipline, and dedication even at a young age.

With dreams of becoming a pilot, Robert received an Associate Degree in Avionics from Glendale College. His aspirations and commitment led him to enlist in the United States Air Force on November 21, 1961, where he served as a Communications Repair Specialist. His service memories often brought tales of time spent around Interior and Wall, South Dakota, where he was stationed on mobile trains, scoring bombers during their practice runs.

Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Robert married his beloved Norma, and together, they moved to Southern California, where they raised their family. His professional journey saw him joining General Telephone in Santa Monica in 1966. Through the years, with dedication and hard work, he witnessed the company's transformation from General Telephone to GTE and subsequently Verizon. After a commendable 33-year tenure, Robert retired in 1999, holding the position of Director of Purchasing and Corporate Contracts.

Outside his professional realm, Robert's dedication extended to his faith. A devout Lutheran, his beliefs guided him throughout his life, offering strength, purpose, and solace. He was an active participant in his local church community, sharing his spirituality and fellowship with others.

Robert had a passion for woodworking. His remarkable skills were evident in the beautiful custom wall units, furniture, and cabinets he crafted. His creations not only adorned his own home but also those of his family and friends, standing as a testament to his talent, dedication, and generosity.

Robert's memory will forever resonate in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, dedication, and service will continue to inspire generations.

May he rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of faith, dedication, and love.
