In memory of

Esther Chapell Parks

of Scotland, South Dakota, died on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Landmann-Jungmann Memorial Hospital in Scotland at the age of 70

Esther was born September 12, 1952, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Henry and Bernice Chapell. Bernice and the children moved to South Dakota in 1958. Esther attended grade school and high school in Wall, South Dakota. She later moved to Oklahoma where she met and married Michael Parks on October 4, 1980. They had two girls, Michelle and Melissa Parks in Hugo, Oklahoma. Throughout Esther’s life, she enjoyed riding her Harley-Davidson around the country with her friends.

Survivors include her daughters Michelle and Melissa and five grandchildren of Oklahoma; siblings Donald Goodsell and Henry Chapell; and a host of other family members and friends.

Esther was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Chapell; brother Michael Chapell and his wife Carrie; and niece Angela Chapell.

Esther has requested not to have any services. She will be buried at the Wall Cemetery at a later date.
