Dale was a truly good neighbor, and I have so many wonderful memories of him. I’ll never forget the winter nights he spent at our table playing cards with all the Mays and John Larabee until the early morning hours—always a good time, always laughter.
And years ago, when the guard dog I bought for my sheep took off, Dale didn’t hesitate. Avery called him, and Dale jumped in his plane to help search. They found that dog out marking his new territory, and thanks to Dale, he made it home—and never left again.
From flying and card games to fighting fires alongside him, those days are long past, but the mark of the neighbor he was has never faded.
Prayers for you, Val, and all the kids. May his memory be a blessing.

So sorry to hear of Dale’s passing. I always enjoyed my contact with Dale as an employee of Golden West and was actually thinking about him last week. We oftentimes think of people who paths we cross on our own life’s journey and I’m glad that mine converged with Dale’s.

To Dale, thank you for hosting and entertaining me during the South Dakota summers of my youth - seems I never saw you without a smile on your face. To Val, one of the nicest people I’ve ever met - wishing you peace as you learn to hold Dale in your heart every day. With love, cousin Kathleen
