Clark E. Morrison was born July 9, 1928, in Philip, South Dakota, the son of Guy and Ethel (DeLand) Morrison. He grew up on a farm 22 miles northwest of Philip and attended Elbon Rural School in that area. He later attended Philip High School, graduating in 1946. As a young man he farmed and ranched with his parents.
Clark was united in marriage to Bonnie Lindgren on February 25, 1950, in Sturgis. They made their home in Rapid City for a year and a half while Clark worked for Fairmont Creamery. They moved back to Philip in 1951. In the fall of 1952, he purchased a hay baler and did custom haying. In the fall of 1954 they purchased the Morrison Ranch. He continued to do custom haying and grinding along with operating the farm-ranch. In 1991, they moved into Philip, but continued to operate the farm-ranch, until the fall of 2011. He loved gardening with his special friend, Thelma, and spending time with family.
Clark was a member of the United Church in Philip, a former member of Hilland Lutheran Church where he served on the board for many years. He served as Haakon County Commisioner for four years, and enjoyed playing cards and traveling to Deadwood, Las Vegas and Laughlin, Nevada.
Survivors include six children Glenda Bilbrey of Sidney, Montana, Joan Kirchhevel of Rapid City, Ed Morrison and his wife Marcia of Philip, Dale Morrison and his wife Tami of Philip, Shar Moses and her husband Mike of Philip, and Cindy Schuler and her husband Rowdy of Philip; 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; a special friend Thelma Hardt of Philip; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Clark was preceded in death by his wife Bonnie on July 25, 2007; a granddaughter Shanda Kay Moses; a grandson Daylyn Morrison; a son-in-law Steve Kerns; his parents; and two sisters Ruth Schneider and Helen Smith.

Blessings come in many forms. Memories are one of the most significant ones for those left behind. Our sympathy to all the family and we were blessed to have had Clark for a neighbor for so many years and a friend for a lifetime. Our visits could cover things he remembered about my folks as well as what we did together. Always a happy time recalling the silly and serious things that went on. He will be missed but not forgotten.
