at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 88

Ervin A. O'Neill was born August 15, 1910, on his parents' homestead in the Top Bar community, northeast of Philip, South Dakota, the son of Albert and Bessie (Jones) O'Neill.

He grew up in the Plum Creek area and received his education in that community.  As a young man, he followed harvesters in the state of Washington and later in Iowa during the corn harvesting season.

He was united in marriage to Lavina F. In 1962, they moved to Box Elder, where he continued his house moving business.

After Lavina's death on October 18, 1987, he continued to make his home in Box Elder.  He purchased a trailer court in Box Elder, which he continued to operate until the time of his death.

He attended the Liberty Baptist Tabernacle Church in Rapid City.
