Joan L. Russell

of Midland, South Dakota, died on Friday, February 9, 1996
at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 57

Joan was born March 24, 1938, in Midland, South Dakota to Irwin and Lillis Russell. She later moved to Upton, Wyoming where she taught elementary school for thirty years. She retired in 1988 and moved back to Nowlin in the spring of 1994.

Survivors include one sister, Elaine Koehler and her husband Theron of Nowlin; two brothers, Gordon Russell of Germany, and Tom Russell and his wife Nancy of Black Hawk; nieces and nephews, Mike and Cindy Koehler, Russ and Rose Koehler, Brad and Scotti Block, Gina Russell, Jeff and Theresa Russell, Jackie Russell, Gary and Emily Russell, and Terry Russell; and a very special friend, Joanne Crouch; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents Irwin and Lillis Russell, one brother Wally Russell, and one nephew Larry Russell.
