Lilly McClure, daughter of George and Cora (Sommers) McClure, was born March 14, 1906, at Pierre, South Dakota.
In 1906 she moved with her parents to a homestead in the Grindstone area, where she grew up and received her education.
Lilly was united in marriage to Henry "Hank" Sieler on June 27, 1935, at Rapid City, South Dakota. They farmed and ranched in the Grindstone area and in 1946 they moved to their present farm-ranch which they continued to operate throughout their married life.
Her husband, Hank, preceded her in death on October 12, 1972. Lilly continued to make her home on the farm-ranch until her death.
Lilly was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Grindstone, and was a long-time member of the Grindstone Ladies Aid and the Grindstone Women's Club.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son and daughter-in-law, Herb and Hazel Sieler of Cottonwood; two daughters, Mrs. Cora Lee (Shorty) Schuler of Wall, South Dakota, and Sandra Blake of Williston, North Dakota; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two cousins whom were raised by Lilly's parents, Don Sommer of Philip, South Dakota, and Lorraine (Sommers) Simcox of Riverside, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Hank, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren in infancy; her parents; one brother, Alvin McClure; and one sister in infancy.
