Bonita Possof Watseka, Illinois, died on Wednesday, January 1, 2020

Bonita Jane Poss, better known as "Bonnie" by her family and friends, was born March 18, 1936, in Philip, South Dakota, on the family farm to the late Orville and Golda (Eslick) Lewison.
Bonnie married John Bernard Poss on July 9, 1955, who preceded her in death in 1976 leaving Bonnie to raise their four children by herself. She never remarried.
Survivors include five children Debra (Michael) Ragon of Earl Park, Indiana; Patricia (Jim) Ruzika of Hughes Springs, Texas; Penny (Nigel) Cloke of Manchester, New Hampshire; Becky (Todd) Wiebelhaus of Rapid City; and Randy Poss of Watseka, Illinois; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers Larry (Suzanne) Lewison of Sioux Falls; Arnold (Evelyn) Lewison of Kimball, Nebraska; and Tony Lewison of Rapid City; one sister Cheryl Baker of Aberdeen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Bonita was preceded in death by her husband John Bernard Poss; a son Nicholas Poss; her parents Orville and Golda Lewison; and a sister Jacqueline Thorson.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, at the First Lutheran Church in Philip with Pastor Cindy Bisser officiating.
Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Philip.
