Sharel Spears

of Wickenburg, Arizona, formerly of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Friday, September 15, 2023
at her friend's home in Congress, Arizona at the age of 73

We come together to remember and celebrate the radiant life of Sharel Spears, known fondly as Nana or Sis to her loved ones. Sharel was born on December 20, 1949, in Kadoka, SD, to Lorin and Helen (Weaver) Good. From a young age she learned hard work by helping on the family farm. She attended rural schools and graduated from Interior High School. Sharel then began a thirty-plus year career at the Kadoka Clinic. Where she demonstrated her caring and supportive nature. Sharel was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience. Sharel's ability to find humor and joy in all of life's moments was a gift she generously shared with all who knew her.

On December 19th, 1969 Sharel was united in marriage to Robert Leroy Spears Jr. Sharel was the cornerstone of her family, a loving wife to Robert Spears for almost 54 years. From this Union came three daughters. Sharel was an incredible mother to her daughters, Misti, Kristi and Wendi. The family resided in Kadoka until Robert retired and they moved to Wickenburg, AZ. Sharel's smile and her passion for life was infectious and could be seen in her love for 4-wheeling, camping, bowling, golfing, snowmobiling, and playing cards with friends and family. Sharel relished her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and she never missed an opportunity to attend their sporting events.

Her ability to find the humor and joy in all moments was a gift she shared with all who knew her.

Sharel's legacy of love, laughter, and strength lives on in her surviving family: her husband Robert Spears of Wickenburg, AZ, daughters Misti (Kevin) Strobel of Rapid City, SD, Kristi (Reiny) Stevahn of Eugene, OR, and Wendi (Brian) Toth of Killeen, TX; her grandchildren: Jade (Michael) Coatney of Springfield, OR, Hunter Stevahn of Rapid City, SD, Nathaniel (Torrie) Toth of Rapid City, SD and Noah Toth of Killeen, TX and her three great-grandchildren Robert, Nataleigh, and Derrek. She also leaves behind her brother Rick (Lisa) Good and sister-in-law Reva Good, her precious dog "Bella Lee", and a host of many special friends.

Sharel was preceded in death by her parents Lorin and Helen Good, and her brother Jerry Good.

She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit remains alive in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her.

In the words of Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Sharel's love, laughter, and resilience are forever etched into the hearts of those she leaves behind.
