Bud Jakeway

of Spearfish, South Dakota, died on Thursday, July 7, 2022
at the Spearfish Canyon Healthcare Center at the age of 82

Warren L. Jakeway, better know as “Bud” by his family and friends, was born May 12, 1940, in Pine Ridge, South Dakota to Charles and Sarah (Rooks) Jakeway. He grew up in the Badlands area and graduated from Kadoka High School.

Bud was united in marriage to Sally Sieler on July 17, 1964, in Kadoka.

His main occupation was a heavy equipment operator for Gould Construction for many years. In 2004 Bud retired and him and Sally moved to Spearfish where they have since resided.

Bud enjoyed bead working, making hunting knives, leatherworking, hunting, and photographing bald eagles.

The highlight of his life was time spent with his wife Sally and daughter Debbie.

Survivors include his wife Sally of Spearfish; daughter Deborah Ann (Lee) Lind of Gillette, Wyoming; brother Ronny (Alice) Jakeway of Rock Springs, Wyoming; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Jerry Jakeway and William (Marilyn) Jakeway.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Spearfish.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, at the Kadoka Cemetery in Kadoka, South Dakota.
