Rodney Paul Schnee was born April 9, 1954 to Linton and Clara (Gerber) Schnee in Rapid City, South Dakota. He grew up on a ranch close to Kadoka and received his education in Kadoka graduating from Kadoka High School in 1973. Rodney returned to Kadoka where he worked for Orville Josserand and later for Lyle Stevens at the Skelly Oil Station. He then worked for over 20 years for Burns Brothers Truck Stop east of Kadoka. In 2001, Rodney retired because of health reasons and continued to live in Kadoka up until his death.

Survivors include one brother Dale Schnee of Atwood, Colorado and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

I first met Rodney when he got sick and as an EMT I was on the ambulance that took him to Rapid City. He never forgot that, and whenever I ran into him either here in Philip or Kadoka, we would have a nice chat. He was such a nice young man. He sure will be missed. He was always helping someone out. God Bless his family and friends.

Rodney helped me out on the farm many times when I needed extra help. He was very good with machinery and always strived to do a good job. But one time when a high line pole got too close to the windrower he assured me "Sorry Carl, I didn't do it on purpose". Miss you Rodney.
