of Midland, South Dakota, died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota at the age of 59
Cheri Lynn Moe was born April 17, 1957, in Mitchell, South Dakota, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Blakeslee) Moe. She was the last of their three children, joining her brothers Roy Allen and Walter. She attended Hanson High School and graduated in 1975.
She then went to South Dakota State University where she met Dean Heeb. The two were married in 1977. Cheri and Dean then moved to the Heeb family ranch in the Ottumwa, South Dakota area where they welcomed and raised four children; Matthew Lloyd in 1979, Dawn Maria in 1983, Rose Anna in 1986 and Cecil Patrick in 1990.
Cheri was active in Eastern Star for many years, she taught CCD classes at St Williams in Midland and served as a 4-H Leader. Cheri was very also involved in her children’s lives, supporting and encouraging them in 4-H, rodeo, wrestling, track, cross county, band, choir, drama, pageants and FFA.
Cheri enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and being a grandma. She worked at the Philip Nursing Home for 14 years, first as a CNA and then as the Activities Coordinator. She touched the lives of countless people and was an incredibly giving and selfless person. She will be greatly missed as a wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Heeb of Midland; two sons, Matt (Shara) Heeb of Mandan, ND, and Cecil Heeb of Wall; two daughters, Dawn (John) Schwinler of Brookings, and Rose (Austin) O'Brien of Madison; four grandchildren, Riley, Anora, and Xavier Schwinler, and Sean O'Brien; one brother, Walter (Bonita) Moe of Rapid City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cheri was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Roy Allen Moe.
Visitation will be held 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Philip, with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Philip, with Father Gary Oreshoski as celebrant.
Interment will be at the Masonic Cemetery in Philip.
